Celebrating Creativity
Our philosophy of teaching music is to keep music live and to experience how music works, and to learn by "doing" and hearing.
We have been able to keep music "live" by continuing our performances at home and sharing these on this website.
We are also now reaping the rewards of some fantastic creative work composing our own music during the lessons of the first three weeks this term and we are delighted to share some of this with here. These are all Soundcloud links.
Giving Day Creative Projects
Year 7 Composition work
Year 7 spent a day studying Renaissance Art and painting techniques. As part of this project Ben wrote a piece of music to accompany his presentation work. Have a listen to this atmospheric piece.
Year 9 - Fusions
Year 9 - Fusions
Year 7 - song composition
Year 8 - ringtones
These projects were completed using Soundtrap. We are also looking forward to collaborating with some other schools using this software.
Year 9 are exploring musical fusions and how to create new material by mixing together two different genres. This is our first preliminary exercise.
Year 8 are exploring music and media and their first project this week was to write their own ring tones.
Year 7 have also been exploring Soundtrap and this is an example of a song that one of our year 7s started writing as her own project last week.
